Every so often, a photograph stops you. You don’t choose it — it chooses you. You linger, you lean in, and long after you’ve walked away, it stays.

IMPACT is a search for those photographs. Not the technically perfect ones, necessarily — the unforgettable ones.

Our photo show invites East End photographers of all disciplines, ages, and skill levels to share their most powerful images.

MEET the CURATORS

PAUL HENRY

Curator, Founder IMPACT Photo Show

Paul Henry is a photographer, filmmaker, and longtime member of the North Fork community, where he has spent time since the early 1970s. He serves on the board of the North Fork Arts Center and is the founder and executive director of the East End Student Film Project (eesfp.org), reflecting a longstanding commitment to expanding opportunities for creativity, education, and visual storytelling across the North Fork.

His photography is driven by an interest in people, place, and the moments that connect them. He is also the creator of ospreyzone.com, a long-running project documenting a family of ospreys and the drama of their everyday lives.

For years, Paul envisioned creating a community photography program on the North Fork—one that would bring photographers together while offering educational and instructional opportunities for people at every level of experience. The IMPACT Photography Show is the first step to building that community of photographers who can share their work, learn from one another and explore the power and pleasures of photography.

JEREMY GARRETSON BIO

My photography blends documentary and fine art, capturing the people, industries, and environments that define the East End of Long Island and beyond. While I am drawn to maritime culture, working waterfronts, and small-town traditions, my focus is on the people and places that shape these landscapes—fishermen, baymen, farmers, and the communities built around them.

I don’t see landscapes as just scenery; they are living backdrops to human stories—a weathered dock, an aging boat, a roadside diner at dusk. My work balances beauty and grit, nostalgia and realism, inviting viewers to connect with these fleeting moments in time.

More than documentation, my photography is about preserving a sense of place—the essence of a vanishing way of life, the warmth of morning light on the water, or the resilience etched into the faces of those I photograph. Whether capturing the maritime traditions of the East End or the quiet poetry of everyday life, I seek to create images that evoke memory, longing, and an appreciation for the past meeting the present.
